Sat in a sea of magazines last night (marked by my #moveinfaith mug) and brought some fun, creative energy AND visual focus to the prep of the Move in Faith launch and the Soul Setting Workshop next week.
Maybe its just me, but I feel like vision boards have become ALL the RAGE!
And I know that vision boards don’t hold ANY sort of magical power, but they can be a useful tool.
Here’s what I mean…
- You cannot create what you cannot first see.
Everything around you has actually been created twice. First as a thought in someone else’s mind and then in real life. But often times the clarity of what we REALLY want is a little fuzzy and whenever that happens we have doubt… and doubt…keep following me here…is the slow killer of desire…
AND EVERY DREAM has to be backed by a burning (like get your backside in gear) DESIRE otherwise we would never take action and move.
2. The level of desire needed for any dream can ONLY be built by actually living in it!
Now, I’m not going to get into all the cybernetics of why this is needed for the mind, but just trust me it’s impossible to do unless you use your gift of imagination and build the “mental memory” of the future.
3. Desire can’t sustain when we don’t stay close.
Listen, the same truth in the “desire” found in love is true here…proximity trumps initial attraction EVERY TIME! When you anchor your desire in faith meaning, you put up quotes to remind yourself you can do it, when you set wallpapers on your phone, when you post your vision board where you can’t miss it! All these things anchor your purpose, desire and faith each time you see it…and you’ll be reminded and inspired to keep working towards your goal.
No matter what you desire to have, be, or do … take the time to know the WHY behind the want. Make sure it’s in line with WHO you’ve been created to be…And then fall in love with the purpose NOT the plan.
Because any of our goals are never really about the things we get the person we become in the process and although the plan may change…and the things we want may show up in different ways…
I can promise you the faithfulness of God will ALWAYS come through…
“In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps.” Proverbs 16:9 NIV
